Critters!

Have I ever told you we live in the country? :) I wouldn't say we live in the boonies by any means (if you don't know what boonies means...click here) but our driveway is .2 miles long and we're surrounded by woods and (empty) pastures. So I guess it's only natural that along with the forests and fields comes lots of animals to keep us entertained. I have yet to capture all of them but here are just a few...

A Groundhog mama and her four babies live in our shed/barn.

Turkey wander through our yard and in the fields pretty often.

Deer frequent our yard (and perhaps our garden!)

It's rare not to see at least one rabbit when we drive down our driveway.
Mama groundhog checking to see if it's safe.

I've always wondered if opossums really hang upside down to sleep....still don't know.

We also have seen barn cats (a mama and babies who share the shed with the groundhogs), moles, chipmunks, snakes, coyotes, squirrels, a hawk and lots of other birds. Yup, we live in the country!

Ah fun!  When we lived in an upstairs apartment in Green Hills an opposum fell through the attic into my closset..  I got pictures as Greg tried to get it out donned in a winter coat, oven mitts and a big wire net.  It was scary and funny at the same time.  Your neck of the woods looks like it is really pretty.

That's a great story but I don't know WHAT we would do if any of these critters came IN the house! :)

Now that I am here visiting I can truly appreciate your critters ... and they are all cute as can be ... outside only! They are all very much at home and content even with us walking here and there.  Love the photos of them - they were very cooperative.
